Challenges

Fulton Hogan contacted Marais Laying NZ to build two speed tables for Auckland Transport.

It’s no secret that there is a lot of traffic in Auckland, especially on Quay St which runs between the heart of the city & its port, making it unsafe at busy times. We are therefore proud to be one of the contractors helping AT to make the area safer.

Some of the challenges are the location which can require traffic management, and busy locations (shopping mall, Auckland port access across the road, university). Another challenge is the wide variety of tasks involved, from pipe and duct installation to prepping and hard surface reinstatement.

Solution

Marais Laying NZ was supervising on site at all times to plan the various tasks in the correct order and to coordinate with the traffic management provider and minimise the impact of the work on the public.
Implementing quality inspection before each concrete pour was also a guarantee for the project's success.

Result

The Marais Laying NZ team performed extremely well on this project and managed to complete both speed tables in the time required.
