CABLE INSTALLATION – SELWYN SNOW RESORT
Client: Rodgers Electrical
Location: Selwyn Snow Resort (Australia - NSW)
Service: Open trenching to install 2 x 125mmHD conduits for electrical network
Date started: Novembre 2024
Challenges:
Essential Energy undertook a significant project to upgrade the electricity infrastructure at Selwyn Snow Resort. The primary objective was to enhance the reliability of the electricity network and address issues such as the power outages experienced in 2023.
These outages caused considerable inconvenience to the community, and this project aims to provide a seamless and uninterrupted power supply for the resort.
Rodgers Electrical chose TESMEC Australia, utilizing the Marais-laying NZ machine and operator, due to their expertise in trenching under challenging ground conditions and their extensive knowledge of rock saw technology.
The key challenges included the difficult ground conditions and the limited timeframe to complete the project before the start of the snow season.
Solution
Marais Laying NZ proposed using the TRS885 trenching machine. This machine can achieve a production rate of up to 60 meters per day in solid rock and up to 200 meters per day in softer material.
Results
This project introduced a new trencher in that region and confirmed the capability of the TRS885 trencher in hard ground.
