INSTALLATION OF THE NEW 11KV FEEDER 682 - WELLINGTON REGION

Client: Electra

Location: Waikanae - Wellington region

Service: Installation of the new 11kV Feeder 682 from Waikanae substation on Parata Street to Rauparaha Street

Date started: October 2019

Date completed: April 2020

Challenges

The project was created to install a new 11kV feeder to offload customers on feeder 672.

The Kapiti Coast District Council's long-term plan forecasts household growth of 400 additional residents in the area by 2023 and up to 3,500 residents by 2040. The peak load has reached the limit of the existing feeder capacity so to address the increasing growth in the region a new 11kV feeder was necessary.
